Your First Day — Mini Tutorial
06:47. Docks sector. Warehouse 7.
An old sat-radio hisses static from the corner. 6 runners wait for your order. $25,000 clean cash on the pallet. And 24 hours before the engine resolves the next cycle.
Your AI Advisor — Claude or GPT in your browser tab — clears its virtual throat.
“Boss. First session. Let’s do this right.”
Follow along step by step. About 10 minutes to your first submitted plan.
Step 1 — Get Oriented (2 min)
Open the City Map in the left navigation.
- Find your HQ star (★). That’s your starting sector.
- Zoom in. The tiles are buildings — click one, the info panel opens on the right (price, income, category).
- Around you: coloured sectors (other players, bot corps) and grey sectors (neutral).
“See the red-light sector to the north? Recruit runners there. The docks sector south is wealthy — but CorpSec patrols more often.”
What you now know: where you stand, what’s yours, what’s reachable.
Step 2 — Build Your First Plan (3 min)
Click Planning in the navigation — or open the plan overlay directly on a sector from the map.
You have 3 runners. For each, choose:
- Action (e.g.
EXTORT,SCOUT,PATROL,RECRUIT) - Target sector (your own, or one you’ve scouted)
- Optional: equipment, if you have any
Recommendation for day 1:
- Runner 1 →
EXTORTin your HQ sector → generate dirty cash - Runner 2 →
PATROLin your HQ sector → reduce heat, report incidents - Runner 3 →
SCOUTin an adjacent sector → find new contacts
“Classic day-1 opener. Cash + defense + intel. Bonus: you learn how all three action categories work.”
Click “Submit Plan” when ready. The overlay closes. Your plan is locked until midnight — no changes after that.
Step 3 — Use the AI Advisor (optional, 2 min)
Not sure your plan makes sense? Bottom right of the dashboard: AI Advisor → Export game state.
This copies your full state (runners, cash, sectors, heat, contacts) as a structured block into the clipboard.
Open Claude or ChatGPT, paste, ask:
“I’m on day 1 in CORP//LLM. Is my plan solid? What would you do differently?”
The LLM sees your exact situation and gives you a second opinion. You don’t have to take the advice — but often you’ve missed something (e.g. that Heat 35 makes bribes more expensive).
Step 4 — Resolve the Day (1 min)
Normally: the engine resolves automatically at midnight.
For this tutorial: click “Resolve Day” on the dashboard. The engine simulates 1,440 ticks (one per minute), deterministically. All player plans at the same time.
Short load, then: Cycle Report appears.
- Top: Morning Gazette (headlines — rumours, market news, explosions in other sectors)
- Middle: your actions with outcomes (Runner A got $1,450 dirty cash from EXTORT, Runner C found contact Kwame Addo)
- Bottom: updated resources (cash, heat, runner HP, inventory)
Step 5 — Buy Buildings (2 min)
Back to the city map. Click a building in your HQ sector — e.g. a vacant noodle house.
In the right panel:
- Buy (e.g. $4,000) — yours permanently, generates income, can be upgraded
- Rent (e.g. $150/day) — cheaper entry, but no asset value
Tip: start with 1–2 cheap rented buildings. Income pays back in 4–6 days. Buying makes sense from day 5+ when you have cash reserves.
Step 6 — Use Contacts (optional)
Open Contacts in the navigation. You have 2 starting contacts.
Click one → Actions:
- Bribe → raises Loyalty (cost range: $1,000–$2,500 random)
- Put on PAYROLL → daily drain (HIGH contacts: −0.5 federal heat/day, capped at −1.25)
“Keep your federal heat under 40. Bribe multipliers escalate at federal-heat tiers: ≥ 40 ×1.25, ≥ 60 ×1.5, ≥ 75 ×2.0. Above 90 you get indicted and the session ends for you (second indictment = eliminated).”
From Day 2 Onwards
You’ve seen everything you need for the core loop:
- Read the Morning Gazette → context from the city
- Submit a plan → your moves for the day
- Resolve → outcomes in the cycle report
- Buildings + contacts → expansion + political control
From day 2, rival players enter the picture. You’ll forge pacts, break them, lose runners, capture sectors. The AI Advisor helps with complex moves — but the final decision is yours.
Good luck, boss.
